Headed to Halloween and Vine 2013
The candy is packed, art is bubble wrapped, and I am looking forward to seeing all of the great artists at the show this year.

Owls were on my mind this year
along with candy (that's a given)
Veggies (trying to be healthier)
and
Poisoned fruit
but most of all I am excited to see what all of the other great artists are bringing to the show.

It is an amazing thing to see so many wonderful Halloween Treasures all in one place... its Magic!

All Sorts of Sweets!

Licorice Allsorts are one of my
ALL TIME FAVORITE CANDIES!

What's not to love... bright colors, the bite of licorice, a slight hint of coconut, and soft fruit flavors - YUMMY!

Original Licorice Allsorts were first produced in Sheffield England by Geo. Bassett & Co Ltd. , which was eventually taken over by the Cadbury company.
Alas! It is difficult to find the old Bassett's boxes and wrappers in the U.S.
Bertie Bassett is the sweet candy man mascot for All sorts
Personally, I don't have a preference as to which combination is my favorite - they are all so delish...
.... but the pink is particularly pretty don't you think?.

Here is my "Ode to the Allsort"
Jumbo 2" - 3" paper mache Licorice Candy
These sweeties will be listed on the
April Pfatt marketplace update.
Each candy has been varnished for durability.
Pile them up in candy jars, use them to decorate dessert buffets or hang them as ornaments (hang wire added on request)

Visit Pfattmarketplace.com on the 10th to see more!
YUM!

Saturday

Busy in the garden

I have been busy in the garden, tending to the laughing lettuce and churlish chicory.
I have also thinned out the cabbage bed.
Consequently, these Sour Kraut Boxes will be up for purchase on this month's Pfatt Marketplace

Each baby has been hand sculpted, painted and waxed. Leaves of metallic green crepe paper with pale green ruffles make a "bonnet" for each little Sour Kraut.

Mounted on top of pressed paper boxes, these babies stand
approx. 4" tall

These are the best little cabbage babies,
Of this I have no doubt.
Too bad they are destined to be Sour Kraut!

What's for dinner?

The Onions were crying 'fore dinner tonight!

The Asparagus cheerfully accepted their plight...

the radish were ribald, rude and contrary,

the carrots were indignant, their faces quite scary.

Hurry up little veggies,
it will not do to be late.
You are invited to dinner...
take your place on the plate!

On Offer at Pfattmarketplace.com - Veggie ornaments - 3"  - 7" special pricing of $15ea + $5 for shipping.....
..... EAT YOUR VEGGIES!

Candy Confessions

Lets get honest!

Do you open closets in your home and bags of bulk candy fall out from the top shelf?

Do you have difficulty closing drawers in your home because of all of the candy wedged in the back?

Do you have a dedicated shelf in your pantry for candy products?

Do you buy "extra" seasonal candy because you worry you won't be able to buy more until next year otherwise?

... Then you just might be a CANDY HOARDER!

CONFESSION 1.
I bought five large bags of Candy Corn M&M's at Halloween and hid them so well that I can't even find them now (this is keeping me up at night, seriously... I can't sleep when I think about it)

CONFESSION 2.

I keep candy canes and Christmas candy in my pantry year round and get really upset if my better half even SUGGESTS getting rid of any of it ( I don't even eat it, just keeping it for "inspiration")

CONFESSION 3.

I think (ok, I KNOW) some of the candy in the pantry might be over 5 years old - but I'm keeping it for gingerbread houses that I never seem to get made each year.... that's ok right?
CONFESSION 4.
I am organizing and cleaning out this weekend - but, if I find those Candy Corn M&M's I am so totally keeping them!
