Well Hello Dolly!

Here are a few pics of my doll - created for Viv's Halloween Doll Swap. I made this doll for Michelle over at Gingham World. HOPEFULLY she will not peek!

This lovely little lady took FOREVER. I have a new found respect for all of you doll makers out there!

I am going to let Michelle name her, but her pet dove has been named "sparkles" - for obvious reasons.

Candy Colored Veggies

I was making dinner the other night (ham steaks with greens and grits) and noticed that my mixed greens weren't green at all... in fact they look quite bright and colorful - no photoshop enhancement here by the way. Aren't they pretty? Of course the beautiful candy colored greens didn't stay that way, AND they didn't taste like candy, AND they are good for you -
so I guess the similarity ends with the rainbow colors.
I have also been busy "wrapping up" a few swap items:

My ATC for the Ambition Designs swap

My Tombstone for the Annual Tombstone Swap

The only thing I have left is my doll for the Halloween Doll swap hosted by Vivian! My dollie is getting her skirt delivered today - she is very excited, as she has been hiding in the cupboard behind a box of malted milk balls - embarrassed that she has no clothes on!

This month's Candy Club participation is down - Whats the deal... are you all on diets or what ... sheeeesh!

The Sweetest Candy of All

Your love is better than ice cream

Better than anything else that I’ve tried

And your love is better than ice cream

Everyone here know how to fight

And it’s a long way down

It’s a long way down

It’s a long way down to the place

Where we started from

Your love is better than chocolate
Better than anything else that I’ve tried

Oh love is better than chocolate

Everyone here knows how to cry

It’s a long way down
It’s a long way down

It’s a long way down to the place
Where we started from...

Monday

September Candy of the Month

That's Right.... This months candy is
RED VINES!

Let me be very clear here - we are talking about luscious Red Vines NOT the scourge of the licorice world... Twizlers!

Red Vines are made by the American Licorice Company. Established in 1914, The American Licorice Co. is one of the oldest companies in the U.S. Candy industry.

candy of the month

Originally, Red Vines were raspberry flavored. The current "Red Twist Flavor" was introduced in 1952.

Red Vines are also produced in Super Rope form, Snaps (little pieces) and come in bags, mixed bags(red and black) and 4lb tubs.

Red Vines taste even better when eaten in a dark movie theatre. I often smuggle red vines in with me when I go to the flics (who wants to pay 3.95 for a sleeve of licorice).

When I was about 10 I tried red licorice for the first time. I went with a friend to the movies, her mom had let her take a tub of red licorice in (I don't remember how we smuggled it in - probably under her sweater) - we proceeded to eat the entire tub. I don't remember the movie we saw... but I do remember the bad case of hives I got all over my back as a result of eating two pounds of licorice!

To this day my love of candy often overrides common sense!

The prize for this month will be announced on the 5th - as will the winner for the August Candy Club Challenge.

YOU STILL HAVE 5 DAYS to post about your

Boston Baked Beans!

NOTE: You don't have to have a blog to join the Candy Club - just create a google account and you can leave your candy comment to join!

In the meantime...

EAT YOUR RED VINES
